Dixon Wilson wins charity netball tournament

On Sunday 12th March the Dixon Wilson Netball Club (DWNC) competed in the first Look Good Feel Better (LGFB) Charity Netball tournament at the Copper Box Arena in Stratford, a former London 2012 Olympic venue.

DWNC sailed effortlessly through the early rounds of the competition, notching up four wins including an impressive 18-0 victory. The semi-final proved to be quite a physical encounter but the team stayed calm under pressure and were delighted to progress onto the grand finale after winning the match with a score of 8-6.

Without much time to catch their breath, DWNC were straight back on court for the nail-biting grand finale and in an astonishing finish, the team stole a one goal lead and held on to win the tournament with a final score of 6-5.

Skill, strength and great team spirit contributed to the success and the team should be proud of this brilliant performance. Overall, it was a wonderful day in aid of a great charity.

All team entry costs and other funds raised were donated to LGFB, which is the only international cancer support charity dedicated to improving the wellbeing and self-confidence for women struggling with the side effects from cancer treatment.

More information about LGFB and ways to support can be found on their website.
