On 22 May a Dixon Wilson team took part in Neptune City Sevens, an annual rugby tournament specifically open to professional service firms within the City. The event is held in aid of Child Bereavement UK, and all team entry costs go towards this cause. Dixon Wilson were drawn into a group with Savills, Thomson Reuters, Saffery Champness and Standard Life, and after some exciting matches, qualified out of the group stages into the Plate knockout competition.
 
Having beaten Octopus Investments in the Quarter Finals, the team faced a tough Deloitte side in the Semi Final. Despite conceding almost immediately, the Dixon Wilson players did not let their heads go down, and battled on to draw level at half time. In the second half, they were able to pull four tries clear of the opposition, earning a place in the Plate Final.
 
The Final resulted in a narrow defeat, but the team can be proud of its performance throughout the tournament, proving themselves competitive against firms of any size.
