I joined Dixon Wilson in August 2022 after deciding not to continue with an Accounting and Business Management degree at Brunel University. I always felt unfulfilled during my time at university, however my desire to work in accountancy stayed with me. I realised that I wanted to be in an environment where I could gain more practical experience.

At Dixon Wilson there are various opportunities for school leavers to build their knowledge and skills in the discipline of personal tax. I have enjoyed the opportunity to work on a broad range of private clients, working on compliance but also assisting managers on more complex project work. I have found that support and guidance from senior members of staff is always available, whether that be from them explaining technical aspects on an area of tax or by providing general tips on good working practice. I am always learning. The firm has created a comprehensive training plan that has enabled me to balance work with my studies, resulting in me passing all my exams first time to become ATT qualified.

I am thoroughly enjoying each day of the tax apprenticeship programme. I am now studying towards the CTA qualification, whilst building extensive knowledge, skills and experience in a well-respected discipline.
