Having also studied Business at A‑level, I knew I wanted to pursue a career that combined my interest in business with the analytical mindset developed during my degree. Accounting offered the ideal balance of both.
I was particularly drawn to accounting as it provides a clear and structured insight into how organisations operate and make decisions. I enjoy working with detail and using data to generate meaningful insights, and the profession offers the opportunity to apply these skills in a practical, real‑world context. The breadth of work, including exposure to different industries and a wide range of clients, was also a key factor in attracting me to the field.
I chose Dixon Wilson because of its strong reputation for supporting early careers and professional development, alongside its extremely broad client base. The emphasis on continuous learning, combined with exposure to a wide variety of clients, means that no two days are the same and allows graduates to gain experience across different industries.
Since joining, I have greatly valued the support from colleagues and the opportunity to work in large client teams early in my career, building experience across a range of client industries. I have also particularly enjoyed the firm’s busy and varied social calendar, as well as the many cultural events that take place throughout the year. My experience so far has confirmed that I made the right decision, both in choosing a career in accounting and in joining Dixon Wilson.
