I initially joined Dixon Wilson as an intern in the Summer of 2021 prior to my final year at the University of Southampton where I studied BSc Economics. I have since returned to Dixon Wilson on the graduate programme where I am working towards obtaining the ACA qualification.

Completing the internship gave me a much greater understanding of the accountancy profession because from the get go I was given responsibility. I was tasked with a range of jobs from helping prepare tax returns to corresponding with clients. Not having to choose a discipline to go into was something I liked as it meant I gained a wide range of experience and knowledge that enabled me to complete more complex tasks with confidence.

During my internship, one thing that really stood out for me was the approachability of everyone and their willingness to help. Now I am on the graduate scheme this is something I really appreciate. People really take their time to explain things and make it clear they are always happy to help. I always feel like a valued member of the team and have made great friends with the other trainees.
